Portland Bill

The forecast was for temperatures in the 90s again so we ditched the bikes for air-conditioned public transport in the form of the MAX.
Great value at $5 for an all-day pass on the MAX, buses and Streercars. In no time we had arrived downtown and after mooching around and spending rather a lot of time in the enormous Apple shop, we made our way out to Washington Park. We had intended to walk through the Hoyt Arboretum but it was too hot so we took the bus to the Japanese Garden instead.
What a lovely way to spend a hot afternoon. So shady and tranquil. Perfect.
Then back down the hill in a streetcar to our favourite bike shop and then back for an early night.

Off to the coast tomorrow and hopefully some cooler weather.
